Youth Alpine Racing Development
Objective: To enhance skiing ability and develop alpine racing skills for 7-14 year-old members of PVSC.
The Racing Development Program gives young (ages 7-14) skiers an opportunity to both improve their skiing technique and develop racing skills. While no racing experience is necessary, prospective participants should be independent in gearing up, riding lifts, and be able to ski Cloud 9 at Hermon Mountain independently and comfortably.
In the interest of skier safety, the coaching staff may refer some skiers to the Advanced Learn to Ski Program if that program is better suited to that individual’s skills.
The Racing Development Program will practice each Saturday morning at Hermon Mountain and will begin as soon as snow/trail conditions allow. We will also have some opportunities to practice in Greenville this season.
This year, we will again have one session that covers the entire season. Practices will begin as soon as there is adequate snow base at Hermon or in Greenville.
Cost:
$120 for session.
Season passes and half-day passes are available for purchase through Hermon Mountain. A discount for half-day passes may be available for our racer team participants.
Jackets will be available for use by our racers for $15 for the season.
Additionally, we will limit participants to 50 each session again this season. Click here to go to our shop page to register for youth alpine racing and join PVSC! You must be a member of PVSC to participate in this program. Racers may be able to participate in optional junior races on Sundays throughout the season. We will provide information to participants regarding races as it is received. Race locations for the upcoming season include the following:
Lost Valley (Auburn)
Hermon Mountain
Camden Snow Bowl
Big Rock (Mars Hill)
Lonesome Pines (Fort Kent)
